We used a PMI chart to record our thinking about the production - The Terrible Taniwha of Timberditch.
P is the for the positives, M is for the minuses or things that were not so good and I is for the interesting things.
Mrs Crockett's island
On Friday the senior school drove on a bus to Boyes beach. Shondivo, Grace, Tayla and Nadia built a Sand island for Mrs Crockett because she's leaving. We all pitched in to make this amazing creation. We are so proud of it.

The Terrible Taniwha of Timberditch
Our class was "Africa" in the production. We did an item using the drums. The class was divided into 3 groups. Each group had a different rhythm to drum. We had to concentrate to make sure we did our part and keep in time. After the drumming a group of us did an African dance.
A big thank you to Mrs Jans, who helped us with our item.

Music with Mrs Jans
Today Mrs Jans took us for music.
First we used the rakau sticks to show how we could keep the beat.
After that we learnt about different sounds the drum could make.
Last of all, some of us learnt to play Anti gravity on the marimbas while the rest of us kept the beat on the drums.
Thanks Mrs Jans. We had a great time.

I used the app called Space to create my picture. I added aliens planets and space ships. I liked the backround so I used it. These are the three planets. I used a purple and an orange Jupiter. Suzie and the space nuts
The dragons reading group read a story called Suzie and the Spacenuts Episode 1 . They had a go at writing a prediction. What is going to happen in Episode 2 .
Here is Jake's prediction. He also drew what he thought the planet of Spungo would look like.
I predict they go find the space ship. When they find the space ship it is locked up in a big giant cage. They go up to it and an alarm goes off and they go to jail for a year. When they get there they think about what happened last time and they run to the space ship and break the cage and fly away.

Planets
We found out that the word "orbit" means how long it takes a planet to go around the sun.
The sun keeps the planets in orbit around it.
Some planets orbit is circular (like a circle). Other planets orbit is ellipitical.
The planets take different amounts of time to orbit the sun.

Mercury takes 88 days to orbit the sun.
Venus takes 225 days to orbit the sun.
Earth takes 365 days to orbit the sun.
Mars takes 689 days to orbit the sun.
Jupiter takes nearly 12 years to orbit the sun.
Saturn takes 29 1/2 years to orbit the sun.
Uranus takes 165 years to orbit the sun.
Neptune takes 248 1/2 years to orbit the sun.
